Top Ten Love Stories I Have to Read

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. We’d love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists. For the list of past topics and future schedule, click here.

Funnily I used to love romances as a teen, but as I grew older, I knew how cheesy and so unrealistic most of them ended up being. So I’m still on a quest to find those wonderful books that rip me apart. The last one that wrecked me was Me Before You by Jojo Moyes.

1. The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons
I’ve been hearing a lot about this one and for some reason I still haven’t read it yet. Also, this edition’s covers are gorgeous.

2. Purity by Jackson Pearce
One contemporary read that’s been picking up dust on my shelf. I just love how the necklace is a lock so maybe there’s symbolism in the book somewhere.

3. Die for Me (Revenants #1) by Amy Plum
This paranormal romance is set in Paris and it has one of my favourite pretty girl covers ever.

4. A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare
Funnily enough Shakespeare always writes plays with these complex crazy-in-love characters and one of my faves has to be A Midsummer’s Night’s Dream which have been depicted in many movies I’ve seen.

5. Dark Kiss (Nightwatchers #1) by Michelle Rowen
Paranormal angles and demons, another one I want to read. It sounds a bit cheesy, but sometimes you need books where you can just not think.

6. Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion
Saw the movie and loved it, so naturally this one is on my list for romances to read. Also another Shakespeare retelling, but with zombies.

7. Love Unscripted (Love #1) by Tina Reber
Always loved movies and books where a normal person falls for a movie star. It sounds so glamourous and unrealistic LOL

8. Wallbanger (Cocktail #1) by Alice Clayton
My bookclub friends have been raving about this author and I read a bit of it at the store and chuckled out loud. Found this one at a GoodWill and had to buy it immediately.

9. Anne & Henry by Dawn Ius
A modern retelling of Anne Boleyn and King Henry as teenagers? I have to read this!

10. Nowhere But Here (Thunder Road #1) by Katie McGarry
Anything by Katie McGarry I will love. Her romances are always so emotionally heart wrenching, so most of them end up being auto-buys. This is her new series, but I know there’s already a sequel out.

Which books do you want to read?
